Welcome to Bastide Sainte Marie
We would love to welcome you, your friends, or family to experience a relaxing, away-from-it-all self-catering vacation in our wonderful bastide.
Located in a small, secluded valley near the small village of Plascassier, Bastide Sainte Marie enjoys a southern exposure with full sun throughout the day. Built in 1895 and belonging to the Bourbon-Parme family, we believe the name of the property stems from the previous owner, that being Princesse Marie-Francoise Romaine.
Technically the area belongs to the Cote Azur but the feeling at Bastide Sainte Marie is pure “Provencal”. The bastide is an original stone structure, fully renovated in a tasteful and understated manner, always maintaining a Provencal feeling. You are in France!
The Provencal feeling begins at the entrance to the property. Driving through the gates and up the driveway, passing by century old cypress on one side and white roses and white oleanders on the other side, this is the view that inspired me during our very first visit to murmur “breathtaking” to my husband. That one word is all it took for both my husband and me to embark on this wonderful French experience of owning a historical AND beautiful property.
Add in a host of beautiful roses inspired by the perfume industry across the valley in Grasse, and you have a most stunning location to enjoy not only the sights but also the smells of the flowers and plants that adorn the property.
Cannes is only 20-25 minutes away, as is the Nice airport, and St. Tropez is 75 minutes down the A8, depending on time of day. Our location is very central, close to the Penetrant highway that brings one straight to the A8. When you crave action and activities, they are only a short car ride away.
